Suzy Short, the author, was a globe-trotting kid who moved nine times before most kids even finished elementary school! And through all those moves, she's never been alone. Her life has been a wonderful parade of animal friends - we're talking hamsters (how cute!), rabbits hopping around, dogs and cats prowling about, and even some fish! Suzy is currently settled in Richmond, VA, sharing her life with her husband Rob - who's not just a partner, but also happens to be an incredibly talented illustrator!
Rob Short, the illustrator, started doodling in his free time twenty years ago. What started as a casual hobby turned into something pretty awesome. His wife kept gently nudging him until he finally agreed to illustrate her children's books. His imaginative style and whimsical creations transform simple stories into vibrant worlds that kids (and let's be honest, adults too) can't help but get lost in. He currently lives in Richmond, VA and is probably sketching something delightful right now!
